Christmas French Toast – Julens enklaste lyxfrukost

Christmas French Toast – The simplest luxury breakfast of Christmas

Recipe by Rebeka Wallborg

The ultimate Christmas breakfast is easily baked in OneServe. A warm, buttery butter pecan topping meets moist brioche bread baked directly in the pan for a lightly caramelized bottom and fluffy, golden surface. All in one pan, completely stress-free.

Cooking time: 30 min
Number of people: 6

Ingredients

Butter Pecan Sauce
1.5 dl brown sugar
0.5 dl maple syrup
100 g melted butter
3.5 dl chopped pecans

Custard
6 large eggs
2 dl milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
(optional: 1–2 tbsp orange liqueur)

Bread
Brioche, cut into thick slices

Here's how you do it

  1. Melt the butter directly in your OneServe on the stove. Stir in brown sugar and maple syrup until the mixture is completely smooth. Fold in the chopped pecans and let everything become warm and glossy. Save some of the sauce in a bowl.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and optionally orange liqueur into a smooth batter.
  3. Dip the bread slices in the batter and then place them on top of the pecan layer in OneServe. Pour a little extra batter over so that everything is properly covered.
  4. Top with the reserved pecan sauce.
  5. Bake in the oven at 200°C for 15–20 minutes until the surface is golden and the center is firm but still soft.
  6. Serve with extra pecans, berries, and maple syrup.
